Re: DIY full range single driver speaker

I here ya :) ... but my OB look ok as the solid cedar is nice and fairly compact... The Tannoy are a big box for sure, but sort of dig the retro look

Re: DIY full range single driver speaker

Half sorry I did not keep those Sound Artist. My baffles are 53w by 70h cm and 50mm deep... they were dictated by the solid wood I could get. Bigger wooden baffle would gives more bass but I have a sub running with them. Another option for OB if you could get decent drivers and look fairly simple: h...

Re: DIY full range single driver speaker

Hi, I had my baffles about a meter from the wall in a fairly small sitting room. Sounded good in most positions tho. My baffle is not that big so fairly low profile and flexible to move around. A very open sound in the baffles but was curious about other configurations so picked up a set of Tannoy B...

Re: DIY full range single driver speaker

Hi, they look great ... like the Kith Haring wrap.
I have a bigger cab design drawn up to provide a bit of bass... full range so no crossover... not sure my carpentry skills are good enough, but will give them a go. over the summer.

Re: DIY full range single driver speaker

Hi, I used Li Audio 15in full-range drivers in a solid cedar open baffle. No experience with other full-range drivers but these sound great to me. Sold my fab Audio Note Speakers! Log thread her on the drivers and open baffle: https://www.decware.com/cgi-bin/yabb22/YaBB.pl?num=1561942815 Mind you I ...

Re: Just curious - anyone in the County Roscommon area

Hi Paul, The drivers are in Tannoy Berkeley cabinets for the last few months...also sound great but lose a bit of openness to the soundstage compared to the open baffle. I might swap them this weekend and will defo dry them upsidedown for curiosity. Which fostex drivers did you use... how are they? P

Re: Just curious - anyone in the County Roscommon area

Steve Decware is a big fan of the Lii Audio drivers... particularly the 15" ... look at his latest experiment:

Re: Just curious - anyone in the County Roscommon area

Hi... no crossover, full-range 15" driver so just directly connected to the tube amp. I was inspired by Decware: https://www.decwareproducts.com/zms I don't like the barrel shape so just went with a rectangular baffle... loads of great info on the Decware forum. If you are in the area always we...

Hi Paul.... not sure how to put images into the post? Have a few images of the baffle but very simple solid cedar with the driver front mounted.
