Re: MQN

Another guy who tried the USB-LAN-USB extender clamed that in his chain it sounds worse compared to the Intona. He'll send the Icron back. Interesting yes, but not easy to tell.

Re: MQN

someone on CA was saying he'd created a great machine based on win 8 embedded, first I'd heard of someone doing that. I've used Windows 7 Embedded when it came out. Was good, small and I liked it. Got a fully working installation with around 900MB, booting extremely fast from mSATA. When Windows Em...

Re: MQN

latest versions don't have hardcoded c:\musicplayer Have tried to rename c:\musicplayer into c:\musicplayerx. Used v25 with v36. In first folder played, in second didn't. Then I've opened mqncontrol.exe with Hex-Editor and found calls hard-coded to c:\musicplayer\mqnloader.exe and c:\musicplayer\mq...

I think the versions that work with mqn.bat don't need mqnloader.
I think, you might confound mqnloader.exe and mqnload.exe. The first is needed and is part of Gordons solution. The latter is an alternative to mqn.bat.

Re: MQN

Taggart, see you have reported having a regen, is there still much of a difference when using different players when using it ? Short answer: yes! My very personal conclusions of the last 4 weeks findings: a. the more optimized an Audio PC already is the less you need the Regen. But most PCs I know...

Re: MQN

Taggart - the only think I can think of is to leave control running and stop play when the track time has expired. Nothing I do in play makes it want to stop. What you suggested is the only way I could think of to control it from my custom shell as well. So, if you don't have other (simplier) possi...

Re: MQN

I like v29, but still comparing the latest versions. Though mqnplay.exe doesn't consume anymore RAM after rendering has finished, it is still left active. This makes it almost unpossible to control MQn from another process, because there is no trigger that indicates end of rendering. Would it be pos...

Re: MQN

Hi Gordon, What about this: 1. mqndeviceinfo.exe >> mqnparam.txt 2. mqnDeviceNameReplacer.exe - reads what is in mqnparam.txt - opens mqnplayer.exe for edit - replaces the device name and fills with 0s at the end if needed Sounds fine to me. But device name string has to be way longer to prevent si...
