Re: HIGH END MUNICH 2022

Have to echo Fran's comments. My first visit and it was hugely enjoyable. Very easy when you are going with seasoned visitors to guide the way. The event is really well run and the quality and scale of the kit on display is awe inspiring. My favourite was the Oswald Mill set up. The designer was on ...

Re: You Tube Videos

I can never resist when a youtube search throws up another Remain In Light gem. Found the other artist from the Mauritanian film done by the BBC but on amazon prime. There is a live version which is a bit bockety( had to tag it on in the end!) but wonder checking out. Malouma Mint El Meidah is the a...

Re: CD player/transport recommendations

I always enjoyed the Cyrus CD players I had a good few years back CD8X and then the CD8SE with smiley face. They had a flaky reputation with their slot loader initially but I never had a problem. I had a psx-r with mine but that makes it a very expensive transport. Are you not better off moving to a...

Re: You Tube Videos

An old version of this song live by St Vincent in a church. I have always found live versions of this track really enjoyable. [youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjzf_9Hqjso Of course I can't resist adding this one which includes David Byrne but I think it is better not because of Mr Byrne but ...

Don't go there. No solar panels. No wall insulation. Semi-detached you are looking at a rating that won't do you any favours. But you could get one circa 200 euro unless prices have gone mad and just keep it to yourself if not complimentary. We got a C3 on ours 10yrs ago because of a brand new boile...

Re: Question about Covid Travel Certificates

Great to hear people are starting to get away again. Fingers crossed it all stays that way going forward. I can understand why your friend high tailed it to your place if he spoke to GIK. Your kind offer is a much more palatable option for a product that engenders fear in men when have to face the h...

Re: Question about Covid Travel Certificates

Changed mine to the passport name when I twigged it would probably cause a problem travelling. From what I have heard it is hit and miss in terms of being asked for all this stuff. I remember years ago having to explain to an Italian police man that Tony was short for Anthony and that even though my...

Re: Coffee supplies

I took a punt and ordered from Adams and Russell. Their prices are really good and the coffee is generally excellent. Good news is no taxes on coffee deliveries. I was reasonably confident of this as Ken orders from California and I have tried it also and there are no duties from the states either. ...

Re: Saying Hello, exploring EU vendors

Well done, I bought a Jadis valve amp from a hifi shop in Belgium. Bit nerve wracking but all went very smoothly. Ditto for 2 coffee machines and a grinder. Most people selling this type of stuff are very genuine. My most recent purchase was the valve cage for my Jadis amp. Guy was a pleasure to dea...

Re: R.I.P Jon Hassell

I saw the crowd funding efforts last year around the start of covid when he fell at home and needed hospital care. Sad indictment of the American health system. My kids never understand what Fascinoma and Third world Musics are about anytime I play them but no doubt he was special but definitely ecc...
