Re: Long shot: has anyone heard an Aesthetix Calypso?
Whilst it may once have been "bad influence on each other", it is now merely good judgement... If one is going to incur the wrath of a significant other owing to yet another Hi-Fi purchase, then much better to do it in pairs so that both significant others can then only agree on how despot...

Re: Long shot: has anyone heard an Aesthetix Calypso?
Yep, would be interested in the Calypso now that Diapason's direction has been secured (great coup that one, absolutely can't wait to hear the Graaf combo!!!).

Re: Preamp Experiences
Many thanks for the invites guys to hear the Jadis and Dynavector pre's. Will definitely look to take you up on that. And Tony, I will indeed remember to return the favour and get you involved! The main challenge is to extract permission from the senior management to take over the living room for a ...

Re: Preamp Experiences
Thanks for the feedback gents! Have been following one of Si's threads on preamps on Wigwam and definitely gives a flavour of the multitude of options out there... Strong consensus there that running a Wadia direct to the power amps is not the way to go. That Audio Research LS25 looks very tempting....

Preamp Experiences
After musing over all the various options to enter into the world of computer audio, I decided to try out Gerry's CP-800 who very kindly loaned it to me for a week. Idea was that I'd use the on board DAC in order to compare ripped cd's on an iPad (.aiff format) to my CDP, Wadia 581se. Normally I hav...

Apologies if this has been covered in previous thread although a quick search suggested possibly not. Regarding computer audio, I've seen quite a bit of discussion about DAC's - but was wondering what people's thoughts are regarding the various options for storage and control of playback? What do pe...

Re: The An Garda Siochana computer virus
My PC was also struck down by the Garda virus last night. Checked a few google links via laptop and there seems to be a few computer repair places quite willing to sort your woes for about €49. Checked a few more links and realised that it's pretty easy to sort without professional help.. Just as th...

Re: Well Wadia know?
Yes, definitely agree that it was a very enjoyable evening! Many thanks Tony for generously hosting us and very much appreciated the insight into computer audio given by yourself and Pearse. It certainly left plenty of food for thought! The Wadia did indeed appear to acquit itself very well. A stron...
