Re: USB Regen from Uptone Audio
Tested a loaned Green Regen two weeks ago, but didn't really like it. Though it tightened the bass there was also a slight harshness in the highs. Last wednesday I got my own Amber Regen. And this is now what I thought it to be. No harshness even with the standard SPS. Tighten bass, nice mids and al...

Re: MQN
Sure sounds wrong, though. I am sure it would make a difference - just what kind? Seems a clumsy way to give some isolation but there has to be a better way. One can not get around improving the power supplies which would have to be superior. If adding a resistor improves the sound in nige2000's sy...

Re: MQN
Not overly excited I'm sure it works but Doubt it will match performance of USB cards and with a few losses in cabling but on the sales end its got a much larger market cause it will be compatible with all devices with USB phones nucs laptops PC I think you'll be right, but if it betters the sound ...

Re: MQN
anyone interested in the uptone usb regen, looks interesting. Yes, very interesting! Have ordered one but have to wait - estimated delivery date is late june. I wonder if that tiny box can replace external USB cards at all or if one still need an external JCAT/PP USB card and the REGEN adds its pos...

Re: MQN
Best is not to rip to ogg at all, as it is a lossy format. I know, that ogg is a lossy format and today I would convert to flac, but these files are from the early days, where harddisks weren't as cheap as they are today :) Although ogg is a better lossy format, it's still lossy, also if converted ...

Re: MQN
Update 1 Music playback stops suddenly after a few minutes (2-3) well before the end of the track ( 8 - 9 minutes length) Same here with WaveIO. Music starts correctly from the beginning, but terminates before end of file is reached. But sounds very good. This one and 4.25/9.12 combination are best...

Re: MQN
Hi Jonathan, I'm using the i5-3220 (Ivy Bridge) which is working perfectly with all avx2 versions of MQnPlayer.exe (the latest one with personalized string via hexeditor of course), and all MQnControl.exe up to version 3.87 avx2. The later control versions freeze my Audio-PC. So I will wait (patien...

Re: MQN
The combination 4.25/9.12 cuts out the very first seconds of first title when using with WaveIO.
But sounds very good to me.
