Re: The Dublin Audio Show - November 16/17 2019

For those who heard the KEF Blades today....are you sure the Blades were playing as i was led to believe they were not used today?? I did hear the KEF R5's playing which are the black speakers connected in Diapson's pic and they did impress for a pair of speakers at just over 2K. I was particularly ...

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

I2S was added to the latest model while it's more like 150 bucks for the entire package. Accepting 6V to 12V via DC input and obviously we could always do better with the clocks. TPS7A4701 for voltage regulation so that's also not THAT bad to boot. Nice find, i ordered the SD3.75 reference digital ...

Wish we knew that before all the recent work Randy but good to know now as soldering those wires to the clock can be a challenge :-)

Re: Computer Audio Blasphemy, nige tries Another SD Card Player

Received the NDK clocks and added the 22Mhz today. Burning in for a few hours and getting the best sound I've had through my system so far. Sounding magical. Its great when you get to hear the return on all this small delicate work....well done. Oh by the way looks like you were lucky to get an SD ...

Re: NOT QUITE NEVER AGAIN, THE GROUP BUY DAC BUILD

Nice, now I really want one lol. I actually have one of his original boards and the first crystals he offered, maybe I'll go ahead and build it up. They are good....i got mine on the secong GB in early 2017 and they had been sitting around since!! If you put some insulation around your crystal/heat...

Re: NOT QUITE NEVER AGAIN, THE GROUP BUY DAC BUILD

I found some small ceramic heaters on Amazon and bought a few, they have worked very well for heating the crystals and make a big improvement in sound....bang for buck is amazing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HALJIA-Ceramic-Heater-Heating-Element/dp/B076HDK1NF/ref=pd_sbs_60_1/259-9509529-2812637?_encodi...

Re: NOT QUITE NEVER AGAIN, THE GROUP BUY DAC BUILD

Hi Randy, I did what most did and just got the clocks and boards without the ovens not expecting what i heard. I am now going after ovens like the rest of the guys seeing that you get another improvement with these. I got the SC Cut crystals, 22, 24, 44, 48 crystals. Further reading seemed to indica...

Re: NOT QUITE NEVER AGAIN, THE GROUP BUY DAC BUILD

Got the Andrea Mori Clocks 22 & 24 setup and running today off the 3.3v enable lines from the SD Player and they are working great with no issues booting the Card and switching between HiRez and Redbook tracks. I am powering the Andrea Mori Clocks off a Supercapacitor 5.7v supply on the DAC and ...

Re: NOT QUITE NEVER AGAIN, THE GROUP BUY DAC BUILD

Is it worth pursuing the AMori or other clocks? So far the improvement seems well worth it though there is a lot of work involved in sourcing all the parts and building the Clocks. Best to start with the NDKs and take it from there as the onboard clocks you get with the board are pretty poor. Is th...
