Thanks to Noel Cloney I have never regretted any hifi purchase. Once after having a Sumiko BP Special fitted a cousin helping me take gear out of the car caught the stylus and broke it before even getting it into the house.

Have you considered Quad 989s. They should suit your room as they can be sited close to side walls and about 1m from the rear wall. They would have a fuller sound with a lower bass than the 57s. Similar in size to the Martin Logan speakers,which I thought they were a little bright when I heard them ...

Well if it is scale / soundstage you are after.... perhaps you should be looking at speakers with physically BIGGER drivers. Bigger drivers can displace a greater volume of air, i.e. a 8" cone will displace more air than a 6" cone. I'm using B&W speakers... and believe me a 15" d...
