I'm not entirely convinced 63s need a stand at all... unless you listen while sitting on a bar stool! The height of 63s is just about right for normal listening and (obviously) the feet can be adjusted for a bit of tilt if required.

Thank god for that Ivor I have to agree completely. If I don't €2k goes down the river in heavy marble stands and aluminium support frames specially imported from Canada in special maple wooden boxes!

The consensus seems to be raise the 63's as shown in some kind of stand and ditto for the 57's but not as high.

Aesthetically I would think the 63's look best sitting on the ground. I think (realise I am probably a group of one on this!) the 57's look a work of art on the stands made in a garage in Coventry. Definitely worthy of spot in the Prada.

Here are my test stands for stacked 57's.
Tried to find the best angle before I sent them for rebuild. As much as I tried, I never like it the strait line!
Tony, those "stands" cost $10 and 20 minutes of effort! There are always a cheaper and more expensive versions.

Adam you are delusional if you think there is anything in those pictures that will win me any brownie points with my wife.
You are not showing me the road to Damascus that is the road to eternal hell and damnation and ear ache from my beloved.

Another very important point here. You are in the basement. I don't want to end up in our basement! Currently above ground and hoping to stay there for many years yet.

Anyway back to reality. Seb called briefly today and just to let him know publicly he gave me the wrong power supply for my HDD. I want the real one back!! Thankfully that was his only faux pas. His brief listen confirmed the view 57's still best the 63's which concurs with my view.
Will need to play around a bit more with positioning on the 63's. I had been using them with the 57's parked behind and I think that might be a problem as popular consensus seems to suggest giving them a good bit of room at the back. This kind of angst is at a financial level that is infinitely more acceptable than the Wilson speaker thingy Pearse posted today!

Thanks Fergus. Front room is a bit clogged hence it was a bit awkward finding that amount of space
but over time will get there.

Sorry Adam in case you are a bit peeved I will hopefully eventually at some point get to try stacked Quads
and the initial frames will be like your earlier efforts. That is a long way off though.

63's set up differently tonight and much warmer sound with space behind them. Lower registers are delivering a lot more but still very clean sound. Not comparing them to the 57's tonight just glad the pc is working again

Paddy called over today to try out his woo amp on my audio pc. Seemed to be happy with the result but we ran out of time and had problems getting the arcam rdac to work on my pc. We spend some time at the beginning listening to both sets of speakers and his preference was the warmth and body of the 57's. I switched the test around this time. 57's had been plugged in and warmed up with music whilst the 63's albeit powered on only got music through them when I switched over. This I think is a problem as the 63's sounded more sterile to Paddy.
My guess is they need music through them for a period of time to sound their best
