Hi Satshanti, how do you move between portaudio versions? Use different installation folders?
Apologies pay no heed.....brain fade, forgot about the renaming!!
satshanti wrote:@Taggart: if you're still following all this, a new MQNload with the option to switch between Portaudio versions would be very useful. :-)
satshanti,
Gordon announced to integrate portaudio code into mqnplay. So seems that there's no need to deal with different portaudio versions in the near future.

+1 on 7.18 SSE2/PAv31.
Bass is back!
Anyone had the first second or so of each track cut off at start of play? Never had it before and haven't changed anything except MQn/PA versions. Started a few versions back.

I'm using a 24bit only dac and would love to hear a 16/44 wav in 24 bits via portaudio (ie kernel streaming) as the 24/96 version sounded imho fabulous - the treble and 3d depth was fabulous.
Are 24 bit containers a possibility at this stage for 16/44 wavs?
uploaded mqnplay 7.23 avx2, v22 with taken down a bit.
uploaded pa v33 normal/avx2, still can't work out the channels/interleaving etc so I can remove the intermediate buffer.
Everything is in 1 function now and think it sounds a bit more substantial
tried wasapi 5.14 and not a touch on ks, sound seems flat and sharp without the level of detail. If that's the sound people are looking for then why not just get an asio player with really small buffer sizes.
5.14 was using 256 sample buffers, whereas everything else is 448.
with this version of pa I can really hear what Brian Johnson brings to the party.
