Any interest in the SOEKRIS 1121?

Post by rickmcinnis »

I am a little curious if the changes make any difference.

I like the idea of the fewer resistors.

Not sure what difference the new re-clocking scheme would make.

Frustrated by how difficult it will be to power with batteries considering the size of that thing. Looks really difficult to use a different reg for the FPGA - any know if SOEKRIS has installed a linear reg this time?

Sure are a WHOLE LOT more ceramic caps than there were for the original. I wonder: what are those orange dot things?

Would be good if simply using battery packs of 5 volts each into the ready made inputs would sound as good as what I have - I guess I should hope it would sound better.

Or should we be happy with what we have? The 0.01% resistors version is rather expensive ... (not that I think it is overpriced).

I could not remember if you had made the move.

Certainly will be interested in your dissection of the thing!

All in good time ...

Take care,
