A pre-amp with tone controls?
Do such things exist anymore? Most modern and not so modern hi-fi kit have no tone controls as it is suggested that they affect the overall sound quality. In a negative way. The high frequency end of my hearing is 'down' so a bit of treble boost would improve the clarity and counteract, to some extent, my hearing loss. I could live with the slight loss of fidelity such controls are reputed to cause, but, unknown to myself, I have lived with that situation anyway so it should not be a big issue.
