Contact Audiophilia in Edinburgh through e mail
They gave me the full retail price on my Hana MH
When I traded it in
Cheers

I think Brexit has focused my loyalty and buying on local retailers that have been very fair to me in recent years. My own experience with retailers in the UK post Brexit has been completely different than pre Brexit.

That's interesting Ivor (and disappointing in a way). Meant to say, the pricing of the Umami Red locally seems on par with expectation elsewhere. It's quite the jump over the ML.

... But while we're here, has anyone tried the SL?

Yes have heard some horror stories about getting goods from the UK Post Brexit.
May be better to stay local.
Have you thought about a main land Europe dealer.
I recently bought. A set of four 845 valves from Mastersound in Italy.
No problem at all fast. Efficient service.
Good. Luck with whatever route you choose to takke

Just an aside... were you happy with the service and the valves you received? What brand were the valves?

Yeah, when I went back to the UK dealer to see about repair or upgrade of my HANA ML I drew a blank. He was embarrassed and unsure of what he could do for anyone anywhere but this was typical of many UK suppliers who had no idea what their relationship with Asian or American companies was now.

Thanks for the valve link. I had a few in the UK I used and one great guy I the States but a solid EU supplier would be ideal.

Hi
Re service from Mastersound it was excellent the valves are Pvsane Classic series 845b
Masterdound used to provide. Shuagang 845b but changed to Pvsane this year as they were of the opinion they were better.
Require 200 to 300 hours burn in. I used to have four KR 845 but one of them went wrong and would nt bias.above 8volts DC.
The monoblocks are designed to bias at 15vdc.
I could have bought one KR valve but at 1000 euros I thought too much.
Also there is little difference between KR, Shuagang and Pvsane.
To me the valves that make most difference are the 12ax7 in the preamp.
I am using Mullard M series in there.
Cheers
Alan
