I do remember the old reel to reel recorders, some of them were very good, most of them looked great too. For a long time I aspired to acquire a Revox, I never did though. Are the speakers in the lid of that unit?

Your Grundig looks the business, a 'reel' classic.
Reel to reels fascinated me as a kid and I always fancied one, I finally bought one a few years ago

I have a TEAC, one - sounds good too. I have an akai m8 - its a valve model, but while its pretty much pristine, the amps need a recap.
More than once I was tempted to break it for parts, but always felt bad about doing that. Must sell it on....
