The wonderful Frank Wess passed away earlier this week. He graced the Basie orchestra in the fifties and sixties.
He gets his own composition, Seque in C, off to a swinging start on this splendid Basie and Ellington album from 1961, Wess is playing flute. The Basie orchestra is on the left and Ellington's orchestra is on the right channel
