Was able to catch these guys on my holidays at the Nice Jazz festival. Superb gig and great eclectic festival. The Mali and Cuban rhythms combine so well with Roberto Foncescas piano and Fatoumatas powerful soaring voice complimenting other superbly. It was a truly mesmeric and exhilarating performance as we were swept upon wave after wave of swirling rhythms and African beats. real high energy stuff but also beautifully paced with some gorgeous piano solos and acapella singing. The stunning outdoor setting under the stars on a balmy July evening just completed the atmosphere making for a perfect evening.

Lovely chamber music from round the world even includes the blues classic - Dark was the night, cold was the ground - used extensively by Ry Cooder in Paris Texas.
Couple of Irish numbers in there too.

Lovely follow-up to their "Chamber Music" album.
Recorded outdoors with plenty of ambient noises too.
