Don Williams RIP

Post by Rocker »

Saddened to read, on the BBC News website, of the death of Don Williams aged 78. It is reported that he passed away after a short illness.

A number of his songs were covered by other artists, Tulsa Time by Eric Clapton for example. But for me it was his voice that did it. Deep, resonant yet comfortable. Music to relax to. May he rest in peace.

He was always a bit cheesy but he also really really good at what he did. Wonderful production and playing on his albums. I even just bought one second hand a few weeks back. It didn't disappoint.
RIP Don, I'll dig out a few LPs later.

Sad indeed, I loved his deceptively easy delivery of a lyric. R.I.P.
