Yep, that didn't stop me though. 6kg of green beans await my attention.
I didn't order the Vietnamese, I suspect that's more of a filter or Aeropress coffee. Nothing wrong with that but I'm all about the shots these days.
keep an eye out for EU suppliers, they can't be scarce!

Currently on 2nd bag of 3fE Xmas blend and wondering if there's any others out there?
I intend to focus on Irish suppliers of whole or green from now on.. for various reasons! I've enjoyed Adams and Russell but it might not be feasible. Let me know if anyone has a good source locally - ie Irish. I'm perfectly happy to drink Nick's Sweet Espresso all day every day but choices are nice...

Not something that ever gets me interested in new blends...
I have used BadgerandDodo but be aware their prices are higher than Adams.Freepost available and given the prices it is easy to reach the minimum spend! I know you don't go for DiscountCoffee but I have found it ok. Not at the level of Adams or Coffee Compass but very reasonable. Nicks hard to beat but like yourself it is nice to experiment

Great guy to deal with and has some lovely coffee - I buy wholebeans from him.
I took a punt and ordered from Adams and Russell. Their prices are really good and the coffee is generally excellent.
Good news is no taxes on coffee deliveries. I was reasonably confident of this as Ken orders from California and I have tried it also and there are no duties from the states either.
As a general moan Irish coffee supplier in general are mad high with their prices for green beans. £12 for Adams. It i €30-40 per kilo with suppliers over here. I can't see any justification for this difference just typical Irish price gouging.
I recently purchased my first "proper" espresso coffee machine (Sage Bambino), aften using Nespresso capsules for years. Looks like coffee goes along with hifi hobby! And watches, half of my hifi friends are into that not-so-cheap-hobby as well:)
Few questions for experts here:
- do you grind yourself or buy pre-grounded?
- Is grinder worth a) taste-wise b) financially
- what should be coffee for beginners, something to start with? I use Lavazza (fine grounded for machines) for now, which is already 10x better than Nespresso. Also have one from Bear Mrkt (Blackrock), house blend, which is ok but actually preffer more smooth Lavazza (and 1/2 price)
- 9 bar or 15 bar for pre-grounded and grounded?
- where to order online
- what music do you preffer while sipping nice espresso? Vinyl or digital?:)

Since I got myself a proper coffee machine and grinding my beans fresh every day, I stop buying coffee from any service stations or Starbucks/Costa because they suck, no real taste of coffee.
A good grinder is essential for good coffee experience along the way with a good coffee beans.
