Funny, I was just wondering about one of these myself. I'm not sure if I'm particularly sensitive or my TT is acting up, but I'm finding speed instability a real problem with vinyl listening at the moment. I wondered how effective this might be.

Adding a dedicated power supply is a very worthwhile upgrade for a record deck in my experience. The main issue regarding speed fluctuations is usually due to records that are pressed off-centre. Thanks to the utter stupidity that is the 180 gram nonsense, the additional stress on the machinery (optimized decades ago for 140 gram pressings that, lo and behold, the people actually making records agreed upon as being the best in terms of sound quality and consistency) result in more problems than it 'solves' with the heavier vinyl. Mainly non-fill and off-centre faults in my experience. There is rarely any new lp that I buy that does not need to be reamed out somewhat so that I can centre it perfectly. Everything...and I mean everything I have up until the early 90's are all perfectly centred and flat. This is a substantial amount of lp`s too, so not just some rose tinted view of the past. Anyway, records are the best despite the hassle and expense :-). Streaming is the absolute worst sound I have heard since the early days of cassettes. (It is essential that I throw a non-sequitur semi-rant about the utter horror that is modern tech).

I added a Neo to a RP8 (which originally had the simpler TT-PSU) and found it a very worthwhile upgrade.
