Re: So this where you are all hiding...Cloney Show anyone going?

I can't say I have any experience with the squezebox, but the sound of the rDAC playing red book cd from his laptop was very nice. I even thought the rCube sounded impressive for its size... Whether it is better than a Squeezebox with an external DAC or on its own I am not sure. The advantage of the...

Re: System Gallery

Nice system and guitars! Is that a PRS in the corner and some kind of Nashville tele? What do you think of the Roadhouse amp? I really liked it when I was amp hunting last year. Ended up with a Danish build modified Tweed Deluxe in the end.... I play a 75 Starcaster along with Jazzmaster, Tele and S...

Re: New CD player...?

I do like to stream some music, but I still like to have a player and CDs. The same way I like records. I think I might go for the rDac solution in the short term, unless Cloney or another shop can convince me I am hearing a huge benefit from a more expensive player. I actually cant hear much differ...

Re: New CD player...?

Thanks for those recommendations Fran and Ken! I am not sure I would be happy to only use my MacBook to play CDs. I need it in my studio a lot of the time, but separate transport and dac is an option of course. I just assumed it would get more complex and more expensive, so never really thought abou...

Re: New CD player...?

Thanks guys I will try and check them out. I have always had a soft spot for Copland (being Danish and all) but their new player is VERY expensive. The AMR CD-777 looks amazing and the usb connection is a great feature. Plus it has valves and "no filter" options.... but not cheap! I am als...

New CD player...?

Looks like my trusty Marantz is giving up the ghost. It has started only playing the first minutes and the sound slows down and starts distorting like crazy. I have been out of the loop for a while so I am not sure what the hot numbers are. But I like the look of Ayon CD-1s. Did anyone hear it at th...

How big does the choir sound and how well does it balance with orchestra? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51UP1VecrVL._SL500_AA280_.jpg Just discovered this one! Wow the sound is huge! Pure...

Re: So this where you are all hiding...Cloney Show anyone going?

I was really impressed with Arcam's rDac and rCube and the rWave! I think the idea of sitting in my couch, just streaming high rez or lossless music wirelessly to the Dac from my Macbook Pro, somewhat appealing. That they seem to have really thought about the wireless technology and that they use d...

Re: So this where you are all hiding...Cloney Show anyone going?

Had a great few hours at the show myself. It was great to see Si, Derek and also meeting Adrian (what a system you have!!!). Lars (as usual) leaves me somewhat uncomfortable (as a fellow Dane ;) ). I saw the Pulsar point demoed and I still think there's an awful lot of psychology involved. Unfortuna...
