I visited for a while today as well. Some good sounds, some slightly disappointing performances, and some surprises (to me anyway). I'll probably go back tomorrow as I missed some rooms. As ever, the simpler systems had an easier time of it. That said, I was quite taken with the Naim and Focal room...

Popped in for a quick visit, I thought the Cloney room with Pass Labs amps and Sonus Faber Amati was probably the best. I was a little disappointed with the Linn room (as an owner, I know they can sound a lot better), but overall well worth a visit … thanks to all those involved in setting it up.

Price reduced to €1,000, a bargain for the closest experience to vinyl in the digital domain.

It is the same one on adverts Richard. It's the 2007 variant, which some would argue had been the "smoothest" until the most recent version (which is 10x the price) ... demo possible if you're interested.

Apparently Tidal will soon support Hi-Res FLAC alongside their MQA offering, although Qobuz is significantly cheaper at their current price points.

Relisted (have finally replaced it) ... Super smooth streamer & DAC … no digital “glare” whatsoever! Supports Qobuz, Tidal, TuneIn, Spotify, Deezer, DLNA etc. It’s updated with the latest firmware from Linn.

Has anyone tried just jumping on a cheap flight and bringing stuff back in hand luggage ( … with all the appropriate declarations of course 🤫)? I would have thought you’d squeeze most sources and smaller amps into the overhead! Whats the saving when you can get insured UPS delivery for ~50€? Flight...

I consider it an itch that wants a scratch, even though you know you shouldn't! Together with a bit of nostalgia, that's pretty much it! I've discovered my old Technics "stereo", which hasn't been touched in over 20 years, has a line out, so I might try that first ... hopefully it doesn't...
