Re: Build a dedicated Audio PC

Using the same arrangement as Ken for connecting laptops. i.e wired to dac connected and wireless from the streamer. All working very well and stable. Just to be totally honest the only problem now is xtream exiting and starting next playback. If demonstrating to a newbie I believe it would be a to...

Re: Anyone tried JPlay?

Yes they're down to about 8 or 9 services ok. I'm sure it makes an improvement but you need to know what you're doing. Tony , more RAM on the AudioPC is of no value to you because you're streaming from the other laptop. I bought a DualBand Modem/router and ran everything in the house off it with me...

Re: Anyone tried JPlay?

Been playing with the JPlay 2 PC setup for a while now and from what I have learned so far everything matters as regards the quality of both PCs, its just a matter of where to stop!!! My previous 2 PC system had a powerful laptop with SSD, 8Gb ram, Win 8 as the Audio PC and a home built fanless pow...

Re: Anyone tried JPlay?

Thanks Nige2000 - this is really just a low (zero) cost experiment so far just to see if its feasible. Amazingly, its running pretty well. I've only experienced a failure on a 24/96 track so far. And xtream is working OK now. Maybe that was a network issue.... So: P4 3.0ghz 1.5g ram 640gB 2.5"...
