Re: WiiM Amp Pro - I love it!

That's interesting indeed, and to be honest I don't find it hard to believe at all. It's also one of the reasons I don't want to investigate any further: I like what I'm hearing now, and I don't want to know anything else about it! 🤣

Re: WiiM Amp Pro - I love it!

Thanks all. It's kinda fascinating to see the advances made in the cheaper end of the market in recent years, especially as more "traditional" listening habits move on. I forgot to say this also has a HDMI arc that's apparently quite well implemented (I haven't tried it yet myself), and I ...

WiiM Amp Pro - I love it!

Since I bought Briano's Audioplans just over a year ago, my old Sonus Faber Signums have been sitting doing nothing. I had planned to use them with my digital organ, but that didn't work out due to positioning constraints, so they were effectively gathering dust. I decided that using them for anythi...

Best of luck calling a US free phone number from here!

At some point, I'd really like the EU to bring in a law that you must be able to cancel a contract the same way you set it up. To be honest I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet.

Re: BBC radio 3: 20th century radicals

Speaking of BBC radio, I read in the Irish Times last night that the BBC Sounds app will not work outside the UK soon. The days of listening to live BBC radio 3 would seem to be drawing to a close, at least in terms of easy solutions.

Re: Power Conditioning- What have I got?

I had a (significantly cheaper!) power regenerator on my CDP back in the day, and I found it genuinely very useful. Prior to its insertion I had very inconsistent sound, and at peak demand periods things would disimprove markedly. I told a story here before about listening happily one evening when s...

Re: Power Conditioning- What have I got?

Absolutely, very well regarded stuff. Like has been said, I found this stuff great on front end equipment but not amps. In my mind you want to keep the signal clean but but get in the way of the grunt.

Nice problem to have either way!

Re: Chinese catridges

I love this idea! Of course, now you need to be sure the cantilever is square to the headshell... 😉
