A beautiful shiraz this evening. The Clonakilla 2007 O'Riada is classic Aussie shiraz comprising mouth-filling red fruits tapering to a black-peppery finish that lingers in the memory. Very well-balanced wine which is not quite as full-on and alcohol-driven as some Aussie reds. It's a refined drink. Needs a wee bit of breathing time - I gave it about 3 hours in a carafe - but it's worth the wait. It really is one to savour slowly - it would be a shame to rush a delivery this good. This one costs about €37 and is worth every penny.
The above picture is of the 2008 vintage - I couldn't find one of the 2007.
Gryphon Diablo 300, dCS Rossini (with matching clock), Kharma Exquisite Mini, Ansuz C2, Finite Elemente Master Reference.
A bit of an indulgence at €29.99 but worth it, 2001 PETIT FOMBRAUGE, ST EMILION GRAND CRU. It's the sort of wine you could buy now and lay it down for 5 - 15 years. That said I can confirm it tastes bloody good now!
Tonight, I savoured every last drop of the sublime 2004 Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde de Guigal. An exceptional wine and worth every penny of its €52 price tag. Truly, this is what they drink in heaven. (My God, what a nose, and a finish that is forever imprinted on my palate!)

Jeepers Creepers Ivor ! Brilliant. The very best of luck with it.
I'm not well up on wine but I love Amarone, Ripasso and the 'bigger' Italians. €€€€. So once in a while I treat myself.
I'm a Northsider but some friends of mine emigrated to Ranelagh a couple of years ago. I'll try to steer them away from Redmonds and in your direction.
We'll drop in for a purchase next time we're out that way.
I hope it's a great success.
