Well Don, I found it quite beguiling and it has gone straight onto the Wish List! As I am not familiar with the work and the various sopranos that "sing" it I will have to do a bit of research to see what my options for purchasing are like.

Playing around on Naxos Music Library I found this recording on the Northern Flowers label and was quite taken by it. The soprano is darker and more mournful than Sutherland giving the piece a whole new dimension. Recommended.
