Forum meet up anyone?

Hi All,


I'm planning a forum meet up on Sunday 4th December for an seasonal get together, maybe even with some mulled wine!!

I'll have some nice gear to listen to - 211 SE valve amp, frugel horn speakers (of course!), pass ono phono stage, DACS, etc etc. I'll also have the stacked quads set up along with a EL34 amp, valve preamp, restored lenco TT + valve phonostage + more DACs etc etc. Might even be able to get John to bring along a computer audio setup to give a demo too.

Anyone interested? These things are always good fun, bit of craic, chance to meet some of the familiar faces (or usernames anyway) and hear some oddball gear. All here are most welcome - especially new (ish) members. I'm located outside Naas in Kildare, about 10mins from junction 10 of the M7.

I can promise decent tea, coffee and biscuits!

On a sidenote:
Can I just mention that it was suggested on the Danish forum, that HiFi as a hobby, is very competitive (even hostile) and lonely compared to many other hobbies (that are all about socialising etc.). I had to disagree when it comes to our forum: it really never feels anything but supportive and welcoming, no matter where people's tastes in gear or music lie.

Fran's invitations to his house is just another gesture that proves this. So well done to everyone for making this forum what it is!

Thanks Fran but I won't be able to make it due to family arrangements. I can send down a JKDAC, JKDAC32 & MK3 USB-SPDIF transports if you think they might be of use? Pity I'm going to miss this get-together as Fran's hospitality & range of quality equipment on display are legendary. Also sorry to miss the chance to meet established & possibly new faces.
