Sure why bother posting on tech forums when there are plenty of nice gurus here. Sons nexus was driving us all mad yesterday. WiFi connection kept failing. Is there a general problem with them or was it just the general volume of traffic yesterday. Seems fine today actually using it now.any help much appreciated

I've seen this once or twice with one particular router - I restart the router and it works AOK.

Thanks Fran Hard to fathom it could have been that as well.
Strange really all is well today. I was a bit worried because if you do a search online re the nexus you are bombarded with problems with wifi

For a while HTC had the WiFi settings such that it dropped WiFi and moved to network data whenever the signal dropped below a certain level. The thing is, that level was far too high, so even if you had what looked like a decent signal it would kick you out of WiFi in favour of 3G or whatever. Could be something like that, or it could be just the chips in the phone gradually taking over and making their own decisions, which is sure to end in Terminator-style carnage.

Skynet went live in Tonys house on December 25 2012....

I meant to mention I had this issue with the router with a few different phones. No other issues regarding wifi on them and there have been 4 or 5 different HTC models here over the years.

Could have done with Sarah Connor on xmas day to deal with the terminators tantrums! I think I will have to get the router changed as even the introduction of a booster is not hugely successful

I think you could be very accurate there Simon. Hopefully google will have a software update to improve it.

Also meant to say I have had the router issue at work, never at home, so it does seem to be router-specific.

The router I'm having the issue with is a Zoom ADSL model.
