Scammer Experience

Here's a little experience I had during the week. Idly surfing,I came upon a pair of Focal Alto Utopia speakers for sale in London for 3000 pounds. The going rate for these (4 years old)is around 7000 pounds so they were a good potential purchase. The seller confirmed that they were in good condition and no damage etc. I asked for his address with a view to popping over and seeing them , or getting someone to call round but he said they were in his holiday home in the Isle of Man. This made them sound like a wealthy man's set up and probably with little use so after learning all about Manx airlines and the IOM Steam Packet company I said I would pop over to the IOM and everything went silent. After a day I informed the website buy.vivastreet.co.uk and they pulled the ad.

Even in the gentle hifi pastime there are scammers lurking ,ready to hook a sucker.
