I can't give much advise but I would strongly suggest double boxing. I had a recent disaster with a turntable I sent via Fedex. It was well boxed (I thought), snug with foam and other packing, clearly marked as fragile, this way up etc. but ended up being badly damaged. Since I was paying for shipping I was too cheap to double box but wish I had. I think this technique can solve a lot of issues. You might want to consider insurance as well if it is expensive but (again from my recent experience) it may not be easy to file a claim.

Thanks for that and I agree, however the seller will not ship, so I'm looking for someone that might be driving from sheffield to ireland sometime and would kindly put it in the boot, for a consideration of course

thanks again

ps i thing we need a monthly van run across the irish sea to deliver and collect , any takers ????
