Help, hum from speakers.

Post by mact66 »

I've a hum from both my speakers, the loudness is not affected by altering the volume on the amp. My amp is a Marantz PM6005.
I realise this is probably an amp problem, but does anyone have any thoughts?

Is it from every source?
My first suspicion would be an earth grounding.

I can easily hear it without being close to the speakers. I it's also there when I switch sources.
